gluten free christmas treats part 2 - sour cream cookies

gluten free sour cream cookies 

sour cream cookies are an absolute childhood favorite of mine.  

just the thought of them brings memories of my brother and i helping our mom bake them every year - fighting over who gets to decorate them, munching on leftover dough, and indulging in the yummy cookies for days.  yes, i'm biased, but these are the best holiday cookies!  

they are very similar to sugar cookies but much, much better because they're not as sweet.  

if sweetness is your thing, you can always decorate with icing or frosting if you so desire.

butternut squash brown butter brown rice crispie treats

browning the butter brings out a nice, nutty flavor enhanced by the roasted butternut squash...  a subtle, wonderful balance that brings out the brown rice crispies and counters the sweet marshmallow.
