four seasons in rome

amo l'italia...  

ho studiato la lingua nell'universidad ed ho visitato anche per un estate

avro sempre dei bei ricordi 

this book was passed to me by a dear friend

because it reminded her of me, my love for italy, and my new parentness

for these reasons i basked in the journey doerr walks along 

relating to his anecdotes and appreciating his perceptions

but it was this passage below that really sang to me:

"a journal entry is for its writer; it helps its writer refine, perceive, and process the world.  but a story - a finished piece of writing - is for its reader; it should help its reader refine, perceive, and process the world - the one particular world of the story, which is an invention, a dream.  a writer manufactures a dream." (156)

which leads me to wonder, what is this blog?  

journal or story?  

...a little bit of both, i think.  

but the defining line i walk you may not know -

how much of my story is invention, dream?
